The concrete placement for the foundation of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition home took place early in the morning and was a special mixture that was dry in 30 minutes after being poured. Both Staker Parson Companies and Burbidge Concrete Pumping provided the materials and machinery for the pour; and Okland's specialized concrete crew, assisted by volunteers, quickly finished the foundation.
After the concrete cured, as per their pre-determined order, the many pieces of the floor and lower level wall frames were placed quickly on top of the foundation. The framing of rest of the house was similarly completed with speed by two of Okland's subcontracting partners, Wagstaff Crane Services and Zitting Brothers Construction.
By mid-morning another sizable crowd had gathered. The Harrison's neighbors, who had already brought the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew to Bountiful by nominating the family, had set up a donation booth for anyone who wished to donate to the family.
Okland's Project Superintendent, Dave Kasteler, and our team's Project Manger, Ryan Tuft keep everything running as smoothly as possible considering the tremendous amount of materials and trades people that make up a fast-track project like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
The sounds of air guns were deafening inside the new home as the framers were swiftly and expertly nailing the frames many puzzle pieces together to move the schedule along.
The Harrison's unique backyard was also quickly taking shape as all the activity was mainly focused on the home.
The electricians from Cache Valley Electric and the installation crews from CCI Mechanical demonstrated incredible coordination while placing their respective materials into the new home. The inside of the home was buzzing with noise and activity. The amount of teamwork that Okland's subcontractors are exhibiting is amazingly evident by how fast the house is taking shape. Well done, team!
