Day 1 :: Day 2 :: Day 3 :: Day 4 :: Day 5 :: Day 6 :: Day 7 :: Day 8
The early morning hours were the time to tear up the large driveway, haul away the old asphalt and install brick pavers set in an architectural design.
With time being short and good will in great supply, Okland’s Director of Safety, Art Westmoreland, kept an eagle eye on workers and volunteers to ensure that safety procedures were implemented and practiced.
As the day passed, the interior of the house was beautifully - and quickly - taking shape. Many workers were performing last-minute installations before crews were scheduled for the final "touch-ups" to the Harrison's new home.
The landscaping of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition house, which at first appeared to be a major challenge, didn't seem quite as daunting as dozens of volunteers stepped in to help with the ambitious project.
Today's crowd was the largest of the week. Many spontaneous cheers would erupt for Okland crews and volunteers; but most of them were for designer Ty Pennington.
Master Gardeners from Utah State University came to educate and assist the many people planting flowers for the massive project that encompassed both the front and back yards. Thank you, ladies!
When the cleaning crew arrives, you know that the project is well on the way to being complete! An army of volunteers with vacuums, brooms, mops, cleaning cloths and dusters were rapidly, and effectively, helping the beauty of the home come up from the dust of construction.
